+ Breeding Services

Mares are stabled at Teradan for monitoring of their heat cycle with palpation & ultrasound to enable optimal coordination and timing of breeding with fresh transported chilled or frozen semen. We also offer an Embryo Transfer Program.

+ Foaling

Teradan provides foaling services for mare owners not experienced or not able to foal out their mares. “Round the clock” monitoring is provided with both video camera and “Foal Alert” monitoring systems.

+ Import & Quarantine

A separate quarantine barn is available for the import of mares and geldings. Depending on the time of year, special arrangements have been made for stallion importation. Teradan has local and European contacts to assist in the importation of horses from overseas.

+ Broodmare Lease

Teradan carries an inventory of well bred Hanoverian mares. On any given year some of the older established mares are not bred to enable us to test breed some of the ”up and coming” brood mare prospects. These older mares are available for those who want to enjoy the experience of raising a foal without having to invest in a mare.

+ Sport Horse Services

Dr French offers a variey of services to the sport horses of Calgary and area, as well as being the FEI Treatment veterinarian at the Spruce Meadows Tournaments. Currently Dr French is desiging his TEAM Program to better manage the competition horses under his care.

+ On Site Veterinarian

Dr. Dan French oversees the operations at Teradan Farms. Dan has extensive experience with sport horses being a rider until his graduation from vet school in 1983. During his 20+ years of practice and 15 years as the resident veterinarian at Spruce Meadows he has developed a keen interest in all aspects of sport horse practice, with his main focus on sports medicine and rehab, surgery and breeding.
