The French family established
Teradan Farms in 1975 to promote the breeding of Hanoverian
breed in Western Canada. Joe Selinger, a well known
horseman, was instrumental in assisting the family, along
with other Calgary families including Spruce Meadows founders,
Ron and Marg Southern in importing some of the first Hanoverians
into Western Canada. Those first Hanoverians were tremendous
ambassadors for the breed, sparking the conception of Teradan
Farms and its adjoining neighbor, Spruce Meadows.
Dr. Dan French, the eldest
of the four children and a well known equine practitioner
in the Calgary area, focuses on the sport horse industry
and provides a number of equine services at Teradan Farms. Our current breeding program is centered around our foundation mares.
